RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR PHOTOGRAGHY:

1. General Guidelines

◆ Each photograph must be printed and submitted in the size of 30 x 40 cm.
◆ Each participant may submit a maximum of two (2) photographs.

All submitted photographs must be clearly labeled with the following information:
◆ Full name of the student
◆ Name of the school
◆ Contact telephone number of both the student and the supervising teacher
◆ All final entries must be accompanied by a completed registration form, submitted through the official RSI Art Website.

2. Verification and Documentation of Student Work

◆ To ensure the authenticity and originality of student submissions, teachers are required to submit six (6) photographs documenting the progress of the digital artwork at different stages:
◆ Phase 1: Start of artwork
◆ Phase 2: Mid-point progress showing development
◆ Phase 3: Final stage with completed artwork readyfor submission
◆ These photographs, along with the final artwork, must be submitted using the official submission form on the RSI Art Website.
◆ Competition Procedures for Participating Schools
◆ Each participating school must conduct the competition on their own premises, ensuring that the environment is appropriate and that students are provided with all necessary digital tools and support.
◆ The competition must be completed within a maximum time limit of two (2) hours.
◆ Schools are required to provide photographic and/or video documentation of the competition session.

3. Disqualification Criteria:

◆ Artworks submitted as part of GCSE or A-Level coursework will not be accepted and will be automatically disqualified.
◆ Any entry found to be copied from existing artwork (including work by other artists or sourced online)
will be disqualified.
◆ Schools that register but fail to submit any student entries will not be considered for participation.
◆ Please note that all submitted artworks become the property of SRS (The School of Research
Science) and will not be returned. SRS reserves the right to use entries for future exhibitions and
promotional purposes.

4. Social Media and Publicity:

◆ This competition is organised by SRS (The School of Research Science) in collaboration with BSME.
◆ When sharing any content related to the competition on social media platforms, schools are requested to tag SRS in all relevant posts as SRS-BSME Art Competition 2025-2026

DIGITAL ART

RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR BSME ART:

General Guidelines :

◆ All digital artwork must be submitted in JPG format, with a resolution of 300 dpi and maximum quality compression set to 12.
◆ The artwork must be a minimum of 2480 pixels on the longest side and must not exceed 4MB in file size.

◆ Submissions must be free of borders, mats, watermarks, or any form of digital framing.
◆ Artwork must be sharp, clear, and in focus.
◆ Students may use any digital art application, including but not limited to Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Procreate, ArtRage, or other similar tools.

RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR DRAWING & PAINTING:

1. General Guidelines

◆ Entries may be created using any medium, including crayons, watercolours, and acrylic paints.

◆All artwork must be the original work of the student and must be based on the official theme for the 2025-2026
competition: Past & Future

◆ Each submission must be clearly labeled with the following information via RSI Art Competition website:

◆ Full name of the student
◆ Age
◆ Year group/class
◆ City and country

◆ The competition will be conducted on-site at each participating BSME member school.
◆ All final entries must be accompanied by a completed registration form submitted through the RSI Art Website.
◆ Additional information and updates can be found on the official RSI Art Competition page.

2. Documentation and Verification

◆ To confirm the authenticity of student work, each teacher is required to submit photographic evidence of the artwork’s progression at three key stages:

◆ Phase 1: Start of artwork
◆ Phase 2: Mid-point progress showing development
◆ Phase 3: Final stage with completed artwork ready for submission

3. Artwork Specifications

◆ Each artwork must be created on paper no smaller than A3 size (42 x 29.7 cm) and no larger than A2
size (42 x 59.4 cm).

◆ Each participating school must organise the competition on school premises with appropriate facilities and materials provided to students.
◆ Each school competition session must not exceed two (2) hours.
◆ Schools are required to provide photographic and/ or video documentation of their local competition
for verification and transparency purposes.
